Pola Trzmieleskwa

Dyslexia Specialist Teacher and Assessor

Pola is a Dyslexia Specialist Teacher and Assessor. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Philology and Master of Arts in English Studies that allow for a theoretically-informed approach to teaching and assessing literacy. Pola had started her teaching career as a teacher of English as a foreign language before she gained a Qualified Teacher Status and moved onto teaching in mainstream and private education. In addition to her array of qualifications, Pola also has OCR Level 7 Diploma in Teaching and Assessing Learners with Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties.

Pola taught in a variety of educational settings, both in England and abroad, and has experience teaching all age groups, including adults. She has worked as an Inclusion Manager at a preparatory school for over eight years where her responsibilities involve supporting pupils who have learning difficulties as well as those who are new to English. Her job has allowed her to gain an extensive expertise in working with children with a range of learning needs such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as well as those with mild hearing and visual impediment.

Pola specialises in assessing children’s cognitive and attainment skills in order to pinpoint areas of strength but also areas of difficulty that may need boosting in order for a child to progress academically. Her assessments paint a detailed picture of a child’s aptitude for learning, to include their strengths and points for improvement. They also provide a range of practical strategies on how potential barriers to learning can be supported by both parents and schools.

Pola is a registered member of The Professional Association for Teachers and Assessors of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) Membership (PATOSS).

Outside of work, Pola’s great passion is nutrition and fitness and their effect on physical and mental performance.
