Andrea is a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, who is qualified as a speech and language therapist in Spain. She recently completed her Master’s degree in education & language teaching and obtain the Qualified Teaching Status.
She is a specialist SEN teacher and has been working as a SENCO with students with learning disabilities, communication difficulties and behaviours that challenge for the last years. She’s been the coordinator of a multidisciplinary team and provided a positive support to the students needs. Thanks to this experience she understands the importance of supporting families and students’ needs in a holistic way.
Andrea has experience working with bilingual children diagnosed with ASD, eating and drinking difficulties, language delay and speech sounds disorders.
She is interested in bilingualism, dysphagia, orofacial myofunctional disorders and AAC.
Andrea is trained in Makaton, TEACCH, SCERTS program, Lego Therapy, Talking mats, Communication through touch and music (TacPac) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Andrea is multilingual and speaks English, Spanish and Catalan.
In her spare time Andrea enjoys playing the ukelele, a good movie and spend time with family and friends.
