Mikaela qualified with a Masters in Occupational Therapy from LaTrobe University, Australia. Mikaela spent over a year in Australia working within the community supporting individuals across the life span with a variety of diagnoses and challenges. Since relocating to London she has been working in a variety of schools supporting the children, staff and families to gain a greater level of independence. She has enjoyed developing her skills in Autism Spectrum Disorder and Early Intervention. Mikaela collaborates closely with the Speech and Language team and the child’s support network to ensure a streamlined approach to therapy and maximise the child’s potential.
Mikaela currently works with children within the clinic, families’ homes and both Mainstream and Special Education schools, providing both direct therapy and supporting schools in setting up universal strategies. She is one of the main OT assessors of our clinic and has provided assessments and reports for consultations, EHCP applications, and Developmental Coordination Disorder diagnoses. She has a passion for supporting children and their families to overcome challenges and achieve meaningful outcomes.
Mikaela is trained in Circle of Security (attachment theory), Zones of Regulation, sensory-based interventions and the CO-OP (Cognitive Orientation to Occupational Performance) Program.
Outside of work Mikaela enjoys travelling, fitness and brunch with her friends and family.
