Zara is a counsellor and psychotherapist at LCP. Zara has a masters degree in counselling and psychotherapy from Regents University London. Since qualifying she has gone on to further study psychotherapy with children, families and adolescents at CCPE. She is currently working remotely with adolescents, adults and couples as well as children within school settings.
Before joining LCP, Zara worked with university students from London South Bank and the Jewish Women’s Aid where she supported women that had experienced domestic violence. In her private practice she worked with adults suffering with stress, anxiety, relationship issues and gender/sexuality concerns. Additionally, she has worked in inner city schools as a play therapist working with children aged 4-16.
In her work with children and adolescents, Zara has experience with a range of issues and pathologies from anxiety, bereavement and family disputes as well as selective mutism, ADHD, ADD and ODD.
In her work with children and adolescents Zara uses many different modalities such as role play, art work and sand tray therapy all of which help with emotional vocabulary and processing. Zara also offers free downloadable guides for families, teachers and children to enable the work to continue at home.
She is a registered and accredited member of the BACP and adheres to their code of ethics.
Outside of work, Zara enjoys running, swimming and anything to do with being active outdoors! In fact, if she could prescribe one thing to the population it would be a brisk walk amongst trees every day!
