Layla has a BSc in Speech and Language Therapy, and is a member of the RCSLT and is also registered with HCPC. She has experience providing intervention to clients with a variety of backgrounds including:
- Autistic Spectrum Condition
- Developmental Language Disorder
- Cerebral Palsy
- Learning disability
- Selective mutism
Layla has a legal background and changed career after having children. She is creative and enjoys incorporating play, art, drama, storytelling to facilitate speech, language and communication in young people. She has experience working with children aged 2-16 in a variety of settings with challenges such as social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, Developmental Language Delay, stammer, selective mutism and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Layla has a special interest in children with ASC and facilitating communication through parent learning, total communication approach and dynamically utilising child led activities and behavioural approaches to maximise best outcomes.
Layla enjoys using motivating toys and solution based strategies with children to help them fulfil their potential. Layla offers parent coaching to those wishing to utilise their role and environment to enhance their children’s therapy.
Layla also has experience tutoring primary and secondary aged children in English language and literature, including SAT’s and GCSE levels.
